Training Program Policies and Procedures
About NAZCARE INC.
We are a quality professional recovery service organization specializing in career development training and providing wonderful opportunities for Peer Support Employment and Career Development in the areas of Behavioral, Social, and Human Services. We train novices to professional providers and assist each to learn new ideas, skills and techniques, connect peers and ultimately strengthen the work we all do in the field of human services. Through these programs, people will develop the skills socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically to become successful in behavioral, social, and human services. Many of the courses offered are necessary for employment and continuing career development.
NAZCARE, Inc. believes strongly that all staff from volunteers through executive staff should have on-going and continuous professional development that is relevant and engaging. We also believe that professional development should connect NAZCARE to others who serve the community thus building a strong network of services and support connecting theory and practice and allowing for a well-rounded learning experience while connecting professionals doing the same types of work in different agencies and arenas.
NAZCARE acts on the beliefs that through various modalities of training and support each individual will achieve at the highest possible career and personal development level. These modalities include but are not limited to:
- Site-based workshops and training sessions – we can provide training in or close to your facility to lessen the cost burden to the employers, employees and trainees.
- Institute Best Practice and research-based materials, training and opportunities for implementation.
- Hands-on opportunities to implement skills in a safe and supportive environment.
- Provide opportunity for demonstration and mastery of new acquired skills.
- Individualize training to integrate and meet the needs of the agency and or trainee.
- Provide technical assistance, assessments, coaching, mentoring, support and feedback.
- Provide networking opportunities and events.
Procedures:
1. Registration. All trainees should fill out a registration application. Confirmation will be provided regarding time and place of trainings. Please make sure you provide accurate contact information.
2. Wait List. Our trainings are in high demand and we have a rotation schedule of when certain trainings are provided. You may be placed on a Waiting List, but we will keep you advised of the status of training and you are most welcome to call (928) 442-9205 X5 and X3 to inquire about the training schedule.
3. Reminders. In addition to your original confirmation, phone calls &/or letters advising you of your scheduled training will be mailed out if you have been placed on a Waiting List. Please inform us if phone number or address changes during your wait time.
Policies:
1. Timeliness: We expect you to arrive no later than the scheduled start time of the training &/or workshop. In order for you to have an effective learning experience, we ask for as little disruptions and distractions as possible. If you arrive later, you may be asked to wait until an appropriate break time to enter the training session and you will be required to make up the missed time. Any missed time by coming or leaving must be made up.
2. Cell Phones and Pagers: We request that cell phones and pagers be placed on vibrate and answered during a break time.
3. Preparedness: In order to make the most of your training experience and to create an effective learning environment for all trainees, please come ready to actively participate. Please bring pen, paper and new ideas, issues and situations that you would like discussed and desire feedback on. As you go through the training, please consider how you might be able to use the skills and strategies at your program site or in a potential situation. Think about how you might follow up with your supervisor of staff regarding the skills and strategies and how the trainers could help you modify and adapt any skills, approaches and strategies to your program. This is NOT about accumulating hours.
4. Attendance: When you arrive you must remember to sign in. If you do not check in we can’t confirm your attendance. The trainers are sharing a great deal of valuable and requires information if you arrive late or leave early, your certificate for that training session will not be issued until the required time and skills are demonstrated fully. All training hours and assignments must be made up. We have a 100% attendance level requirement. We will do our best to provide make up training sessions as quickly as possible but you may need to until that session is offered again.
5. No Show: We allow you to reschedule the first no show of a schedule training session and/or enter the next training cycle. The second No Show and you will wait a year before we provide you a training opportunity. Trainings are held to a small group of people in order to maximize the training. By you not showing, it costs another person from taking the training session and impacts cost to our agency and others.
6. Certificates & Documentation: Replacement certificate will bear a replacement fee of $5.00. You will need to make payment in advance of receiving your certificate.
7. Education Units – to receive educational units – presently the University of Arizona requires enrollment and a unit fee, as does the University of Penn. Presently we are working with the University to wave this, but we must ensure a certain volume of training per year – per quarter. Presently the Arizona Dept. of Education and Health Services recognizes our training as well as DBHS, CDHS, NDHS & the Veterans Affairs Administration. We are a nationally certified agency through Recovery Associations.
8. Payment is in advance of training unless special arrangements have been made with the business office.
9. Scholarships are available and Veterans and enrolled eligible Title 19 recipients.
10. Grievance Procedures – If any trainee feels that the quality of training, the requirements, the decisions regarding master of skills are not fair and as expected, each trainee may bring this complaint up verbally or in writing to the CEO of NAZCARE, INC. and have the compliant reviewed and mediated.
Cancellation Refund Policy
All course and training registrations must be accompanied by payment in full in order to confirm your space in the class unless prior arrangements have been made with the business office. Class space is limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
We understand that emergencies do come up in case you need to cancel your registration, please contact 928-442-9205 X5 or X 6. You need to state the course title for the training, the date of the training upon cancellation and do so at least 78 hours in advance or a processing fee for materials may be withheld from your registration fee.
If the class has been cancelled and rescheduled at the same location by NAZCARE INC. the registration fee that has been paid for the cancelled dates will be applied to the rescheduled dates of training at the same location.
If the class has been cancelled and you do not wish to attend the training during the rescheduled dates, you will receive a full refund of your registration fees.
If the class has been cancelled, your paid registration fee can be used as credit towards the same training at any location available within one year of the cancellation. We will honor the registration fee (if paid in full) regardless of any increase in registration fees for the new course date that you choose to attend.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds requested by participants are only available according to the following policy:
- If notification is received by our office 78 hours prior to the start of the class, the registration fee will be refunded minus a processing fee.
If notification is NOT received by our office within 78 hours prior to the start date of the class, or you do not show up for the class, any and all registration fees paid will be retained in full.
If a trainee is removed from a training session by NAZCARE, INC. it will be up to the discretion of the CEO as to whether a refund is issued.
NAZCARE INC. cannot be responsible for providing refunds or offering makeup sessions for class time missed as a result of trainees’ illnesses, emergencies or events beyond the trainees' control. However, we will make every attempt to accommodate make ups. We reserve the right to deny service to anyone.
