Trainer of Trainer Peer Support Specialist
- All Previous Peer Support Training &/or an Equivalent Certification
- 1-2 years of Human Service Provider Experience
Module 1 – 12 hours: Assessing your Audience, Room Arrangement, Learning Approaches & Strategies, Multi-media Materials, Handouts and Follow-up, Presentation Basics, Blooms Taxonomy of Question Techniques, Presenter’s Flow and Pace, Using Power Points, Charts, White Boards and Handouts.
Module 2 –12 Hours: Basic Learning Styles, Learning Styles and Difficulty of People, People with Disabilities, Multiple Intelligences, Multiple Domains, Varying the Activities, Creating Presentation Assessments, Checking for Mastery, and Removing Difficult Trainees from Training Situations.
Module 3 – 12 hours: Team Presentations, Debriefing the Presentation, Evaluating Trainees, Encouraging Participation, Defusing Tension among Trainees, Observation techniques and principles, Feedback and Reviewing with a Trainee, Language, Dress and Appearance of Trainees and Trainers, and Setting Expectations.
Module 4 – 12 hours: Creating and presenting your own presentation to a group of Consumers using the principles learned in the Trainer of Trainer, and Evaluation by Trainees and Instructor.
Completion Certificates are provided after each training module. This training series is designed to have multiple entry and exit points with the ability to have web-x instruction and computer-based instruction to enhance the training and meet multiple modalities and needs. Authorization numbers to Web-X are provided so trainees may refresh their coursework as needed. The Training is signed off by Roberta L. Howard. Both she and NAZCARE Trainers may sign off on State forms for Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and the Veterans Affairs and Administration. (Veteran’s scholarships are available) Please note that we strongly suggest trainees be qualified to meet the State Standards needed to qualify to provide direct services in your State, however, this training proves valuable in understanding people in recovery including one self.
