Cultural Competency 6 hours
This course introduces the concepts of culture on a wide scale, cultural considerations, culture as it applies to employment and behavioral health standards. Cultural aspects of: – family culture – community culture – religious culture – work culture – etc., identifying cultural barriers to services, tolerance and acceptance of cultural differences. This course is based on curriculum by Dr. Felipe Molina and Roberta L. Howard. Certificates of Completion are provided and the trainer(s) may sign off and any needed State of Employment forms. Cultural Competency for the Medical Professionals 8 hours
This training explores the barriers culture may present in providing medical and behavioral health care, overcoming the barriers to care due to culture and language, and how to recognize culture barriers; dealing with cultural barriers, acceptance of culture in providing services, cultural approaches to behavioral and medical services including the inclusion of cultural, spiritual and traditional healers. The curriculum is by Roberta L. Howard. Certificates of Completion are provided and the trainer(s) may sign off and any needed State of Employment Compliance forms. Fee $80.00
